This past November Airbnb invited us to San Francisco to test out and help promote their Belong SF adventure itineraries. They planned out a couple events each day, starting with a group outing in the day — such as hiking into Muir Woods, sailing around the Bay, or going on a burrito tour of the Mission — then a smaller more intimate dinner at a local's house each evening. The idea is that travellers coming to SF for the first time will be able to get to know the city from a more nuanced perspective, with insiders insights, varied activities, and a group of like-minded travellers baked-in.
It was great fun, and we got to see a side of the city I had never experienced before on previous visits. But by far my most favourite part was hanging out with the other people that Airbnb had flown in. It was really rewarding getting to know the city with this crew.
